On 25 February 2022, a press conference and kick off meeting for the DIGITOUR – “Boosting the tourism sector in Europe through digital tools and innovation” project took place in Venice. The initiative is funded by EASME under the COSME programme.
Mr Gian Angelo Bellati, President of the Venetian Cluster, highlighted the project’s key objectives—promoting digitalisation and innovation for tourism SMEs across Europe.
Consortium partners from eight European countries participated: Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Serbia, and Spain.
Consulting Cluster Veritas is participating as a project partner, represented at the kick off by Teodora Jilkova and Tsvetelina Zinkova. They will be responsible for tasks including:
- analyzing regional tourism contexts
- collecting tourism SME needs via online questionnaires and interviews
- preparing for the launch of the project’s Call for Proposals
The project includes two types of vouchers:
- Up skilling and Capacity Building Voucher—for individual SMEs to enhance digital skills via training and advisory support
- Collaboration Innovation Voucher—for groups of SMEs to collaborate on innovative transnational projects.
DIGITOUR aims to support at least 138 tourism enterprises across 12 countries within its 26 month implementation period.
